World Children’s Day! A special day indeed. The nations around the world are gearing up to celebrate it on November 20. Here’s how the pinnacle event of this decade, Expo 2020 is planning to celebrate World Children’s Day with both fun and educational activities.

World Children’s Day

The United Nations General Assembly on November 20, 1959, adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child. To commemorate the occasion, every year Children’s Day is grandly celebrated globally. This year’s theme is ‘A Better Future for Every Child.’

Expo 2020’s pavilions are also preparing to celebrate the day. When the pandemic struck, it was a tough time for the children too. They adjusted themselves to the prevailing deadly situations amidst chaos and they bravely supported the elders as well. Hence this year’s celebrations would mean so much for them as they are the future guardians of our planet.

Celebrations at Expo 2020

Belgium Pavilion

Apart from the fresh and hot waffles, fries, and Belgian chocolate shop, there is another attraction for children. Children can become cartoon characters and role-play their part in Belgium’s popular comics.

Ethiopian Pavilion

One of the Horn of Africa, Ethiopia adorned its pavilion with all about the origins of humans. Kids would be fascinated by the displays of ancient objects like jewellery, crafts, and tools. Not your genre? Don’t worry. They’ve also got a variety of board games, so children don’t get bored.

Germany Pavilion

Specifically keeping children in mind, a playful fun exhibit is developed with the support of the famous children’s TV host Armin Maiwald. Children would go gaga over the giant ball pit filled with over 100,000 balls. If they place the ball on one of the scanners, the ball will tell a short presentation story. The pavilion redefines the phrase ‘Learning with Fun,’ doesn’t it?

Guinea Pavilion

Guinea goes old school as it filled an entire space dedicated to children. There are storytelling boxes and Kid’s corner to keep the children engaged.

Luxembourg Pavilion

We won’t say much. Because we don’t have to. Just one sentence is enough to excite the children.

‘There is a 21-metre giant slide inside the pavilion.’

Monaco Pavilion

Children can watch the robot penguins play, jump, and run all day. They can also help the baby penguins to go past the Arctic dangers. They’ll gain firsthand experience of how to tackle the issues practically and to think logically.

Many other pavilions have planned their own celebration of World Children’s Day. We’ll update more information in the coming days. Meanwhile, remember our website. Visit us for regular updates.
