More than 100 participants have written a certificate of the success of the first preliminary race for the sixth edition of the National Camel Day Marathon organized by the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center for Heritage Revival and will be held in conjunction with the Festival of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. In the second preliminary round for the group over 30 years old, Yahya Ali Al Ketbi on board “Al Ramas” achieved first place with a time of 6.58 minutes, followed by Jumah Muhammad Al Mazrouei on board “Mabalash” with a time of 6.59 minutes, and third place Saeed Ali Al Ketbi on board The “Federal” time is 19.7 minutes.

Cash prizes for the two halves of 50 thousand dirhams were allocated, so that the total prizes for the two preliminary races would be 100,000 dirhams.

Suad Ibrahim Darwish, Director of the Championships Department at the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center for the Revival of Heritage, confirmed that the success of the first preliminary race of the National Day Marathon was achieved thanks to the efforts of the first-place participants who attended with all seriousness, willingness and enthusiasm in order to win the first places, which was reflected in the converging level.

Until the last few meters in order to settle the first positions, just as the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center for the Revival of Heritage, harnesses all its capabilities in serving this event, believing that supporting the people of the nation and heritage is a national duty and responsibility that must be done for the sake of our citizens, whom we seek to motivate them to practice various kinds Heritage sports and focus on preserving and spreading the popular heritage in general, specifically in these races, by motivating them to house camels, ride them and compete in races.

Darwish also expressed her happiness with the success of the match for the under-29 category, which was added for the first time this year after the competitions were limited to the category over 30 years only last year, which was translated by the strong attendance and good participation of the young contestants.

The main race for the 11-kilometer National Camel Day Marathon will be held on January 29 and preceded by the second preliminary race, which will be held on December 25 next, for a distance of 6 kilometers. It also consists of two runs and is dedicated to the two age groups under 29 years and over 30 years.
