The “public swimming pool” adopts the statute of the federation

The Extraordinary General Assembly of the Swimming Federation approved the statute of the federation, which will be implemented in the coming period, as well as approved the candidate of Al Wasl Club, Muhammad Ali Amer, as Chairman of the Election Committee, while the Presidency of the Appeals Committee went to Sharjah Club candidate Ahmed Dia, and the General Assembly granted them the right to Forming the two committees and informing the Federation’s General Secretariat of them.

The union’s extraordinary general assembly met yesterday, via video communication, using the “Zoom” platform, and 13 clubs out of the 16 entitled to attend and participate in the meeting attended.

The Secretary-General of the Federation, Abdullah Al-Wahaibi, confirmed that the members of the extraordinary general assembly adopted the vote on the ineligibility of the chairman of the board of directors who spent eight years in the presidency of the federation, whether separate or connected, to run again for the position of president.

Al-Wahaibi told Emirates Today: “The extraordinary general assembly has interpreted some of the articles in the articles of association, including the definition of the board of directors, as it consists of the chairman and one female member, and the election of four members to the board of directors, in addition to a member appointed by the chairman of the board of directors. ».

Al-Wahaibi added: “It is not permissible for those who have held the position of president or member of the board of directors for two consecutive or separate terms to run for a third election, in addition to ensuring that the president has a university degree or equivalent, in addition to allowing those over 60 years of age to run for membership or presidency. Council, provided that the minimum age for the candidate is 21 years.

Al-Wahaibi continued: “The supporting member must complete two years of participating in the federation’s competitions, with the obligation to pay fees and subscriptions, then submit a request to the General Assembly to join the membership of the Board of Directors and become an active member, and he is entitled to vote and participate, provided that he has a board of directors of citizens.” .

The results of the voting, to prevent the chairman of the board of directors who spent eight years from running for the new term, were approved by 10 clubs against the rejection of three, while seven member clubs agreed not to allow any chairman or board member who had been in the membership or presidency of the board for eight years. Continuous or separate, from applying for a new round, in exchange for the approval of four clubs, while one club refused to participate in the vote.

The Chairman of the Federation’s Board of Directors, Sultan Al-Samahi, attended the “extraordinary general assembly” and addressed a word of thanks to the members of the Federation’s General Assembly, and wished success for the new council in completing the current council’s achievements, which were achieved at the local and Arab levels.
