For everyone. 

The authority quickly developed a large number of sophisticated public libraries, such as Hor Al Anz Library with its multiple services and Al Mankhool library which has become a reliable reference for every science student and researcher in the Arab world. In this article, we will shed light on the latest branches of public libraries in Dubai, namely the Al-Safa Library for Art and Design, which is considered a creative oasis for mutual meetings and cooperation with professional and emerging designers and artists at the national, Gulf and Arab levels.

Al-Safa Library in Dubai is distinguished by its contemporary architecture and modern interior design, and is considered an ideal platform for creativity, as its floor-to-ceiling glass windows overlook green spaces and enchanting landscapes that add a special aesthetic to the library, and includes among its shelves thousands of books, references and scientific materials specialized in the fields of art And design, including fine arts, performing arts, music, architecture, calligraphy, photography, etc., to help motivate adults and children to learn, know and develop their talents.

It is noteworthy that the network of “Dubai Public Library” branches includes eight libraries for adults and seven libraries for children, in addition to multi-purpose halls and classrooms. The branches of the library are connected to each other with computer systems that link them with other modern libraries, which gives members the opportunity to view a wide range of books covering a wide range of topics, in both Arabic and English.

It also contains a section dedicated to children and two galleries to display artworks. Various cultural events and workshops are organized. The activities of the Al-Safa Library for Art and Design continue throughout the year.

Sections

70% of the library space is allocated to programs and art galleries, while the remaining space has been developed for books and reading spaces. The library includes 3 main sections, as follows:

• A section for great pioneers that contains purely art books in Arabic and English, most notably the old Iraqi fashion books, knitting and design books, precious stones, and various art books, in addition to the availability of books on architecture and engineering
• A developed and safe section for children, as it includes picture books, multi-use halls, and a section equipped with modern computers to facilitate the process of research and study.
• The art gallery dedicated to displaying works and paintings by international and local artists, and another section dedicated to displaying digital content and databases, including digital photography libraries.
