India extends international flight ban until the end of July

The Indian government has extended the ban on international commercial flights till 31st July, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said in a circular on Wednesday. The ban on scheduled overseas flights was to end on 30 June after a 15-month gap.

Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) tweeted and said, “In partial modification of circular dated 26-06-2020, the competent authority has further extended the validity of circular… regarding scheduled international commercial passenger services to and from India till 2359 hrs IST of July 31, 2021.”

Cargo flights and limited approved flights are exempted from this ban.

As of now, passenger flights from India to UAE are banned until July 21. Once restrictions lift, residents who received two UAE-approved vaccine shots can head to the UAE.
