Shurooq launches the second in a series of sessions on “The Reality of Sharjah Design Sector”


The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) launched the second edition of the “Reality of Sharjah Design Sector”, which presents a series of discussion sessions on the current and future of the architectural scene of the Emirate of Sharjah, with the participation of a group of local and international architects and artists.

The event will be held remotely on Tuesdays from November 24 until February 2, 2021 and address the latest trends in the field of architecture and various designs, where experts present a set of the latest innovative and contemporary visions, ideas and concepts.

The first session will be titled “Designs of Places of Worship” to discuss the most prominent features of the process of designing places of worship in line with different religions .. As for the session on December 8th, it will be titled “Bridging the Gaps” and discussing the latest engineering trends that characterize the design of bridges and discussing how to give these infrastructure Added value to its traditional role of facilitating mobility.

Shurooq will organize the third session on December 22 Al-Mutabbal under the title “Landscape Architecture” and focus on what natural site designs should be, so should they complement and complement architecture or be a major part of it.

The first session next year, on January 5, is entitled “Post-temporary design” and deals with designing stadiums, sports complexes and temporary squares, while a session entitled “Prefabricated Architecture” on January 19 explores the role of forward-looking projects in providing an effective and sustainable approach to building in light of the growing Concepts and trends of prefabricated buildings.

The series of sessions will conclude on February 2, 2021, with a session entitled “Embodiment of Architecture” that focuses on the correct approaches and strategies that must be followed and taken into account when selecting materials and manufacturing.

Khawla Al Hashemi, Director of Projects at the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority Shurooq, confirmed that the second edition of “Design Scape Sharjah” targets all those looking for professional sources of professional inspiration from architects, designers, social planners, real estate developers and community members in the UAE and the world.
