If you suffer from insomnia, a lot of the blame lies with your diet. Try to get rid of the following five ingredients to get a good night’s sleep:
Caffeine
You know that consuming caffeine before bedtime causes you insomnia, but what you don’t know is that caffeine is also found in a number of nerve medications or depression medications. So make sure it is caffeine-free or eat it at least 8 hours before bed!
Liquids
It is known that water helps in losing weight and maintaining good health, but too much water leads to negative consequences, which is the frequent use of the bathroom. Avoid drinking liquids at least 60 to 90 minutes before bed!
Fermented foods
The “tyramine” and “amino acid” that fermented foods makeup stimulate the brain and thus cause insomnia. Avoid smoked fish, aged cheeses, and cured meats before bed, and opt for fresh cheeses such as mozzarella, for example!
Products that contain tomatoes and spices
The acid present in tomatoes causes heartburn in the stomach and thus discomfort during sleep. Stay away from this type of food or eat it at least three hours before bed!
Drinks containing sugar
Reduce the consumption of soft drinks, juice, etc., because one can contain the equivalent of 10 tablespoons of sugar sufficient to destroy vitamin B, which deficiency leads to indigestion, headache, insomnia, depression, and muscle spasms.
