The Extraordinary General Assembly of the Emirates Cycling Federation approved the schedule for the elections for the new board of directors of the federation, as it was decided that the door for candidacy will be opened on the 6th of September, for a period of two weeks, then the call for an extraordinary general assembly to hold the elections on the 5th date. Next November.
It was also decided to form the Election Commission headed by Muhammad Al-Amiri, and the Appeals Committee headed by Ahmed Hussein Al-Obaidly.
The majority of the Federation’s General Assembly insisted that the candidate for the Federation’s Board of Directors elections should have a university degree, and that the 8-year clause should be applied so that it is not permissible to run for any member who has passed two consecutive election terms in the Board of Directors.
This came during the General Assembly held tonight at the Centro Hotel in the Emirate of Sharjah, in the presence of His Excellency Osama Al Shafar, President of the Asian and Emirati Federations, and all members of the Federation’s Board of Directors, in addition to representatives of clubs who are members of the General Assembly.
At the beginning of the meeting, Al-Shafar expressed his happiness at working with the clubs over the past years, and his appreciation for their keenness to attend and participate in the General Assembly, indicating that he would pass them all at their club headquarters to thank them for working with them and their support for him to develop the game in past years.
For his part, Abdel Nasser Omran, Secretary-General of the Federation confirmed that the meeting of the extraordinary general assembly tonight was preceded by another meeting, starting from 5 pm at the Ordinary General Assembly, to discuss and approve the final account and budget, ratify the previous record, and the presence of 17 clubs out of a total of 18 working and supporting members and that the association The second general assembly, which began at seven in the evening tonight and ended at nine, witnessed the approval of the election list and its schedule, with setting dates to open the door for candidacy and holding the extraordinary general assembly to vote on the candidates, with the formation of the elections and appeals committees.
The meeting witnessed quite civilized discussions that reflect everyone’s concern for the public interest and reinforce everyone’s desire to develop the game and advance it.
