The Chinese government conducts DNA tests for 9 million residents in “Qingdao”

The Chinese government announced that it will conduct a DNA test for the 9 million residents of the coastal city of Qingdao within five days.

So far, more than 1.03 million samples have been collected in a nucleic acid test across Qingdao, east China’s Shandong Province, after new cases of COVID-19 were reported, an official said at a press conference today.

The National Health Commission also sent a team of experts to Qingdao to supervise the prevention and control work of the virus.

A Qingdao government official announced that the “Lushanhu” complex in the city has been declared a medium-risk area.

The Municipal Health Commission said that Qingdao reported six new confirmed cases of the emerging coronavirus and six other new asymptomatic cases over the weekend.

Epidemiological investigations found that the cases are linked to Qingdao Chest Hospital, which is used to treat incoming COVID-19 patients.

A local official said that the risk of a new wave of new infections in Qingdao is minimal, as it was found in a hospital, and the cases associated with the aforementioned infections were immediately transferred to hospitals.
