Sharjah Humanitarian Services organizes an exhibition “Without Walls” for artists with disabilities

The Art for All Center (Falaj) of Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services organized yesterday the activities of the exhibition “Without Walls”, which will continue until December 24, in the premises of the Sharjah Art Foundation in the Heritage Zone, with the participation of 46 paintings by 9 artists with disabilities who are affiliated with the center The opening witnessed a remarkable turnout of a number of artists and interested parties.

Muhammad Bakr, supervisor of Falaj, confirmed that organizing the exhibition comes within the framework of celebrating the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, highlighting their talents and calling on society to support them in all fields, noting that the center currently provides its services to 48 talented and creative people with disabilities in the fields of plastic arts and arts. Performers and music of various nationalities.

He added that since its establishment and until this day, more than 830 persons with disabilities have benefited from the services, lectures and workshops of the center. The center has also participated in many competitions and art exhibitions inside and outside the country, praising the fruitful cooperation between Falaj and the Sharjah Art Foundation and various centers for persons with disabilities in the country. .

Emirati plastic artist, Dr. Najat Makki expressed her happiness in attending the exhibition and seeing the beautiful work presented by people with disabilities, whether in the way of drawing or the subjects they choose. Society has a responsibility to support them and create the right environment for their inclusion.

Artist Dr. Qais Salman Abboud stressed, in a dialogue with artists with disabilities on the sidelines of the exhibition, that the artist’s arrival in achieving his dreams must be preceded by education, diligence and hard work.

The artists with disabilities who illuminated the sky without walls with their artistic stars deserved praise and the desire of some to buy these paintings to decorate their offices or private rooms.

Faris Al-Hadi, a member of the Art for All Center and in charge of Persons with Disabilities Affairs at the University of Sharjah, spoke about the pioneering role of the Human Services City in containing, advocating and empowering persons with disabilities in all fields, including art, wishing it continued success and prosperity.
