UAE Weather Condition
On Monday, 7th June 2021 the weather in UAE is believed to become quite hot and humid, with the temperature expected to rise as much as 49°C. Health professionals have advised the population to take precautions against this condition.
In addition to the temperature surging to 49°C, on Saturday UAE is also expected to have a fair to moderately cloudy sky. A few convective clouds are expected to form towards the east, over the mountains, by afternoon. In the coastal as well as internal regions, the relative humidity is predicted to rise by nightfall and early dawn. In both areas, there is also scope for fog or mist to develop.
The highest humidity recorded so far is 75 to 95 percent in coastal regions and 75 to 95 percent in internal areas as well. It was between 45 to 70 percent in the mountain region. The state of the sea is expected to be slight in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea. The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has also forecasted that the next week will be somewhat cloudy with a chance of forming convective clouds. Across the western coast, the temperature is likely to drop a bit.
Speed Limit In Abu Dhabi
The Abu Dhabi police have claimed that Abu Dhabi’s speed limits on its external roads will now be brought back to the regular range. On Saturday morning, many regions in UAE faced thick fogs, such as Bu Humrah, Al Rahbah, Swiehan, Razeen in Abu Dhabi, and over Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai in the earlier parts of the day. This encouraged the police to bring down the speed limit to 80kmph on chief roads from and towards Abu Dhabi.
Through their official Twitter account, the police announced that this decrease applies to Mohammed Bin Rashid Road (Abu Dhabi – Dubai), Maktoum Bin Rashid Road (Al Smeeh – Dubai), Abu Dhabi-Al Ain Road, Al Fayah Road (Truck Road), and Abu Dhabi-Sweihan Road. They encouraged travelers to drive safely.
Precautionary Measures
In addition to cautioning the general public about several diseases that are likely to be problematic during such weather conditions, health experts in UAE also suggested some safety guidelines. At home, to beat the heat, residents are urged to use wet towels or cool packs on body parts such as arms and neck. Feet can be directly submerged in cold water. The entire body should ideally be cooled down through cool showers or baths. It is best to cut down physical exertion which will further heat the body. All household tasks should preferably be executed and finished when the weather is at its coolest, like in the early morning.
While outside, it is preferable to wear less heat-absorbent light-colored clothes that are loose and made of natural material such as cotton. Locked-up vehicles can get heated and therefore children or pets should not be left in such cars. This can be fatal otherwise. After spending too much time in the sun, it is advisable to find a shaded area for a period of resting before carrying on. But while out in the sun, sunscreen, hats, and/or sunglasses can be worn or an umbrella can be used as shields. As much as possible, avoid stepping out between 11 am and 5 pm. It would be good to engage in water activities such as swimming between 7 am to 10 am or after 4 pm.
