Summers in Dubai are notoriously harsh, but the people here still find ways to have fun.
“When in Dubai, workout like the Emiratis do!” This is the mantra you must live by if you wanna enjoy getting that beach bod while in Dubai.
Dubai as a city is synonymous with extravagance. So, it is not a surprise that workouts in UAE are resplendent and entertaining, to say the least.
Here are a few options to bring your ideal beach body to life while in Dubai!
Go for a run/bike ride
The Palm Jumeirah Corniche is an amazing place for an early morning beachside run or bike ride. With a dedicated 1.4 km bike rack running from the open beach to Mankhool Rd. This track is a haven for cyclists. Runners and rollerbladers have free reign on the entire 14 km stretch of the Jumeirah Corniche. Although the Corniche is open 24 hours, the prime time to be out here is early morning or late evening.
Go for a swim
Dubai has many beaches for those looking for a refreshing dip in the waters. However, visiting a pool is the best option for those looking to get a workout while they swim. There are many swimming pools across the city for you to swim laps in, from the huge pool at “The Address” at Dubai Marina to the pools at the multiple Fitness First centers spread across the city. The Olympic size pool at Fit Republik, Sports City is also another amazing option.
Hit the gym
Irrespective of whether you like to pump iron traditionally or are into alternative regimens. These include martial arts training, CrossFit, calisthenics, Zumba, or even spin cycling.
In fact, Binous gym, aka “The mecca for bodybuilders in the UAE”, is perfect for those who love to lift. If it is good enough for Mr. Olympia Physique competitor Andrei Dieu, it is good enough for you. I think you can be the next Mc Gregor, Khabib, or Poirier, well good for you that Dubai has a dedicated MMA training facility at UFC gym JBR.
Other notable mentions include the Crank Fitness spin classes, the various Gold’s Gym, Fitness First facilities across Dubai.
Hiking and trekking
Dubai is blessed by beaches and many beautiful but challenging hiking trails in its neighboring cities of the UAE. These trails are perfect for thrill-seeking nature-loving athletes! Some notable trails include the Jebel Jais in Ras Al Khaimah, the Hajar hiking trail in Fujairah, the Jebel Hafeet in Al Ain, and the picturesque Hatta Hike that spans across the UAE-Oman border.
