Al Hosani explained that despite the high recovery rates, the increase in infection rates requires everyone to pause with oneself, since only one month ago, specifically on August 10, only 179 injuries were recorded, so this number rose within a month and reached more than 900 cases at a rate. Increases more than five times.
Al Hosani reviewed some figures and percentages that would reveal the various dimensions of this increase, as males constituted 62% of the total infected, compared to 38% of females.
The figures also confirm that 12% of the injuries recorded during the past two weeks belong to individual citizens and residents coming from outside the country, although they obtained negative results in the country of departure according to the requirements, but they did not adhere to the quarantine procedures for a period of 14 days, and the relevant authorities follow them continuously.
Al Hosani announced that the largest part of the detected injuries, at a rate of 88%, came from contact and gatherings, including weddings, condolences, work, and breaking the quarantine protocol, explaining that these injuries were a direct result of failure to comply with preventive measures, such as wearing masks and physical distancing.
The previous rate also includes 10% of injuries discovered through prior examination of administrative and educational staff in schools, parents and students who chose to return to schools within the plan of the Ministry of Education.
Al Hosani confirmed that the competent authorities in the country have studied this increase closely to identify its patterns and attributed the reasons for this increase to a set of factors, the foremost of which is the indulgence of individuals in adhering to preventive measures such as physical spacing, and continuing visits and gatherings, whether in homes or restaurants, and holding events. In the presence of a large number of invitees, in violation of the simplest safety procedures, which resulted in many cases of infection due to contact.
Al Hosani stated that the second factor lies in the non-compliance of some shopping centers, shops and public facilities with the precautionary measures, stressing that some cases of crowding and jostling have been observed in some commercial stores where the competent authorities have taken the necessary measures towards these actions.
Al Hosani noted that the neglect of some people to check their symptoms, and negligence in the procedures for home quarantine, going out and mixing with others is one of the important reasons for the current increase.
Al-Hosani also attributed the reasons for the increase in injuries during the past days to the indulgence and leniency of a number of private educational institutions’ departments in the country and the failure to implement the precautionary measures adopted after discovering cases with them in violation of the isolation procedures set by the Ministry of Education for all educational institutions, which stipulate that the study should be suspended for a period of 14 days after Any case was discovered, stressing that public and private schools, in which cases of infection were discovered, were suspended for 14 days.
Al Hosani revealed that these factors combined, in addition to recording and monitoring some cases of infection coming from abroad, have contributed to the current increase in the number of injuries.
Al Hosani stressed that the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority has already begun in coordination with the local emergency and crisis committees in all the emirates of the country to tighten supervision, as violators of preventive measures will be held accountable, whether individuals who are not obligated to wear masks, hold gatherings or home quarantine, or shops, commercial centers or restaurants. Not complying with temperature checks, capacity standards, etc., provided that binding fines are applied based on the decision of the Attorney General.
Al Hosani stressed that since the start of the pandemic until the present time, the UAE has achieved many successes and accomplishments thanks to the commitment of the UAE community of citizens and residents for more than eight months, noting that the gradual recovery of all vital sectors requires the responsibility of everyone, starting with individuals, families and even institutions.
Al Hosani stressed that the current stage requires solidarity and cooperation from everyone, as the health sector, along with the economic sector and all other sectors, formed part of this success, praising the important role played by members of the Emirati community, whether citizens or residents, during the past eight months.
Al-Hosani called on every person in contact with a positive case to apply the approved quarantine protocol and not to rely on the negative examination result that takes place after the discovery of contact as an excuse to return to the practice of normal life as the incubation period of the virus may last up to 14 days, which means that the result of the examination / after two weeks of contact / It should be the basis for the decision to get out of stone.
She also called upon families who wish to celebrate any occasion to limit themselves to a very limited number of families and to adhere to all preventive measures.
At the end of the briefing, Al Hosani confirmed that the UAE government has set all precautionary measures and requirements for the opening and return of the various sectors, including schools, commercial centers, hotels, mosques, workplaces, etc., which means that the gradual opening may not be linked to the increase in injuries as the procedures and instructions are clear and specific and everyone is required to adhere to them.
