Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club, in cooperation with the Emirates Horse Racing Authority, is organizing today the first race of Sharjah Longines Track for the season 2020/2021 with the participation of 80 horses with 6 horses on reserve sponsored by Longines, the official sponsor of the race season 2020/2021 with the support of the Council Sharjah Sports.
The race consists of six runs for different distances and levels; It is the first half: Longines Spirit Group Run. It is intended for purebred Arabian horses, beginning four years and older, for a distance of 1200 meters, with prizes of up to 40 thousand dirhams, with the participation of 16 horses, with 4 horses on reserve.
The second half, the Longines Hydro Conquest Group, is a race dedicated to purebred Arabian horses produced by the United Arab Emirates within the classification of four years and older for a distance of 1,200 meters, with prizes of up to 40 thousand dirhams, with the participation of 11 horses .. Dedicated to purebred and novice Arabian horses aged 3 years and over. This run is for unrated horses for a distance of 1000 meters. Prizes for this run are 40 thousand dirhams with the participation of 14 horses.
The fourth round Longines Dolce Vita Run is a race intended for purebred Arabian horses, beginners, and classified at the age of four years and over for a distance of 2000 meters, and its prizes are 40 thousand dirhams, with the participation of 16 horses with two horses on reserve. And the fifth course Longines Master Group run. It is a race dedicated to Arabian horses Al-Aseelah, classified at the age of four years and older, for a distance of 1,700 meters, and his prizes are 40,000 dirhams, with the participation of 13 ponies.
The race is concluded with the sixth round, the Longines Spirit Run, which is a race dedicated to purebred horses classified at the age of three and four years and over for a distance of 1700 meters, a round of parity with prizes reaching 40 thousand dirhams with the participation of 10 horses.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Majid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club, revealed the addition of a new race in the Sharjah Longines Racecourse for this year, provided that the total of Sharjah Longines Racecourse is seven races, the first of which is the first Sharjah Longines track on October 31, followed by the His Highness Cup race Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum on November 28, then the His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Cup race on December 12, then the Sharjah Crown Prince Cup and Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Cup on December 19.
The races will be completed next year 2021 with the Gulf Cooperation Council Cup race that will be held on January 9, followed by the Cup race of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah on February 27.
The races will be concluded with the Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan Cup race on April 3, 2021.

In a related context, the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club management announced the organization of special tournaments for each of the owners, coaches and riders of the race in its fifth edition through the points system, where the first place with the highest score in each section of the championship is awarded.
The knights, owners and coaches compete to collect points during the season in a club, so the coach, the knight and the owner in the first place get five points, while the second place gets four points, the third place gets three points, the fourth place gets two points and the fifth place gets one point.
The points are collected at the end of the season so that the highest-ranked first-place holder is determined as a champion in the owners, a champion in the knights and a champion in the coaches, and in the event of a tie, the owner of the largest number of times the first place is preferred. In the number of second-place times, the owner of the largest number of times a third place is outweighed, and in the event of a tie in the number of times the third place, the owner of the largest number of times a fourth place will be awarded and the winners of the Cup race of His Highness Ruler of Sharjah will be announced on February 22, 2021.
