Emmy Awards 2021 full winners list: The Crown, which went in with 11 nominations, proved to be the big winner, including acting awards for Tobiaz Menzies, Olivia Colman, Josh O’Connor and Gillian Anderson.
Unlike last year’s mostly virtual ceremony, this year in 2021, the Primetime Emmy Awards went back to an in-person event. The event is being conducted on the evening of Sunday, September 19 (September 20 early morning in India) in Los Angeles’ Event Deck at L.A. Live.
Going into the show, Apple TV+ show Ted Lasso was the hot favourite with most nominations, 13. It went on to clinch 4 trophies, including three acting awards and 1 win for the Outstanding Comedy Series. The Crown, which went in with 11 nominations, proved to be the big winner — with 7 wins, including Outstanding Drama Series, and awards for directing, writing, and four acting awards for Tobiaz Menzies, Olivia Colman, Josh O’Connor and Gillian Anderson.
Among actors, Jason Sudeikis took home the award for best actor in a comedy series, Jean Smart won a trophy in the best lead actress category for the HBO Max series Hacks. Josh O’Connor, Olivia Colman, Kate Winslet, Ewan McGregor, and Kate Winslet also won acting trophies.
