Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s latest Instagram/Twitter post dedicated to farmers is receiving major flak from fans and followers. The actor tweeted a picture of himself, covered in mud, after working on his own farm in Mumbai.
Salman’s what seemed to be a well-intentioned tribute has been mocked ruthlessly online. Many critics pointed out that Salman’s entire body can be seen covered with mud, which according to the Internet clearly meant that it was applied by someone else.
“See carefully, his hand is not muddy but his arms are. This means someone else has applied mud on him,” wrote an Instagram user. Many users asked the actor if it was necessary to apply mud on his face.
Some pointed out that the tweet was in poor taste especially considering the hardships farmers where facing, during the coronavirus pandemic lockdown, while Khan was safe, socially distancing in a farmhouse in Panvel, Mumbai.
Salman Khan, who has been staying at his Panvel farmhouse through the lockdown and since, shot two songs there. Reportedly he was with a few family members and industry friends, including Jacqueline Fernandez, Iulia Vantur, and Waluscha De Sousa. The actor’s Instagram account shows that he has been keeping busy by working out in his private gym, working around his farm, and singing and filming songs.
Salman Khan was last seen as the host of the TV reality show Bigg Boss 13. In terms of films, his last release was Dabangg 3. He will next be seen in Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai, co-starring Disha Patani, Jackie Shroff, and Randeep Hooda.
A few days ago, the Bharat actor shared a picture from a field and he captioned it: “Daane daane pe likha hota hai khane wale Ka naam… Jai jawan ! Jai kissan .”
A Twitter user replied on Khan’s post: “To become a farmer, you first know the value of both sweat and tears.”
