For all the Astrophile, Space enthusiasts, and Nyctophile out there, Expo 2020 offers you a unique chance to satisfy all your five senses on things that are related to space. The once-in-a-lifetime opportunity is arranged to celebrate and commemorate space week planned from October 17 – 23. In this post, we’ll list out the things you shouldn’t miss out on during space week at Expo 2020.
Expo 2020: Space Week
Cosmos at Al Wasl Plaza (October 17 – 23)
When you have the world’s largest 360-degree projection at your disposal, it makes everything better. Al Wasl Plaza, the heart of the Expo, takes advantage of the projector and offers an immersive audio-visual show called Cosmos. From Dubai, you’ll be taken close to the planets and stars out there in our massive galaxy and you’ll find yourself floating in the vast space.
The captivating experience lasts for 15 minutes and you’ll be awestruck at the end of this journey through the millions of stars. The show will be repeated during the space week until October 23.

Music from the Orion Nebula (October 17, 19, 21)
The sensational Chilean singer-songwriter Flangr write music from the unusual sounds recorded by the ALMA observatory. The Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array captured these space sounds from the Orion Nebula.
Give your auditory nerves a never-before enthralling experience.

The Sun! The Star! (October 19, 20, 21)
A musical theatre performance is planned at the Sun Stage in the Opportunity District under ‘The Sun! The Star!’ to give you a wholesome visual experience.

Stargazing Nights (October 20 – 22)
A 90-minute Stargazing show would be hosted at the French Pavilion in the Mobility District. Courtesy of the powerful Unistellar telescope, you’ll get to explore the deep space galaxies, nebulae, and beyond.

While you’re at the France Pavilion, you should do something else too. In the past couple of months, we have seen the news about entrepreneurs taking space journeys and sharing the view from up there. If you’re wondering what the view would be like, there is a space shuttle window that replicates the mesmerizing view.
Touch the Moon, Literally
Not kidding. The US pavilion displays the mare basalt rock collected during one of the Apollo missions at its site. The rock is more than 3.75 billion years old and you can touch it. The pavilion also displays a Martian meteorite sample found in Antarctica during 2012-2013. Stupendous, isn’t it?
Outside the pavilion, there is a scale-by-scale replica of the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.
Among the 10 theme weeks planned during Expo 2020, Space Week is the second theme week. It is a great opportunity for the young kids to see, learn, and explore the space developments we’ve made so far. It’ll be an inspiring as well as an entertaining week for the visitors.
