In the World’s Greatest Show it is not surprising to hear about the recently deployed Guardians of the Expo 2020 – The Robots. The event set to display cutting-edge technologies and artificial intelligence has employed 152 robots to eliminate the mundane repetitive tasks. It would increase the operational efficiency and provide interactive experience to the visitors.
Meet the Dream Team
Opti Robot – The Master
The one-meter tall orange Opti is a Mascot Robot. With its cute face, Opti is programmed to interact with the visitors and entertain the tourists. Equipped with an 18-degree backward angle for better interaction, Opti can move comfortably in all directions and is capable of standing upright for 24 hours.
And you know what, opti can dance too!
Watch out for the group dance performance by the Opti robots at Expo 2020. It’ll be one of the entertainment highlights of the event.
Patrol Robot
Patrol Robots are the Arnold Schwarzenegger (Not the one from ‘The Terminator’) of Expo 2020, and we all are its John Connor. The 24 hours on-duty robot is there to protect and monitor the Expo site.
Provided with an HD facial recognition camera, a real-time thermal camera, and an SOS button, the Patrol robot will use voice recognition to answer our questions. It’ll also remind visitors about the adherence of safe practices at the Expo site, conduct 24/7 monitoring, and announce emergency alerts.
Attendant Robot
Have you lost your way in Expo 2020 or want to recieve info about different events happening in the paviliions? Then Attendant robots are here for you! Fully equipped with multimedia interaction, face detection, multi-touch graphical user interface, and facial recognition, Attendant robots are programmed to guide visitors to their destination. Their displays are capable of showing images, text, audio, and video to access and receive information about the Expo.
The Barista Yanu
Tired of roaming in Expo 2020 and craving for a cup of coffee? Then Arthur, the Barista Yanu is here for you. Heard the name before? Well, if you remember, Arthur, the android bartender on the Avalon from the 2016 science-fiction Passengers, is the inspiration for this robot of Expo 2020. It knows how to make drinks and can entertain you too with its small talks and jokes.
Delivery Robot
The intelligent mobile containers with automatic weight detection systems are equipped with voice recognition to answer your questions. Delivery robots would be used around the site to carry goods, and they are capable of returning to re-stock and re-charge.
Vending Trolley Robot
Are you searching for your way towards a particular pavilion in Expo 202? Or want to read some interesting info about the event? Here comes the mobile vending trolley that will be carrying around visitor guides, reading materials, maps, baskets, carrying trays, poster frames, etc. It is entirely autonomous with no human interference.
Doctor Robot
Not part of the official dream team, Doctor Robots would be displayed at the US pavilion. It will also show massive Falcon 9 rocket ship replica and other American inventions.
Terminus Group deployed the Robots for Expo 2020. Victor Ali, Founder and CEO of Terminus Group mentioned that the smart services provided by the programmable robots would give a glimpse of our future. The firm has already signed a long-term lease with District 2000, UAE’s city of the future, to set up an R&D center and advance UAE as an innovative economy.
The robots will invoke awe and exhilaration among the visitors at Expo 2020. We can expect kids to be all over it and Instagram flooded with the bot pictures. The Expo 2020, believed to be the pivotal moment in the advancement of our technology will set a blueprint for our future. In a few days, the countdown for the next stage of our future begins.
