The much awaited Dubai Expo 2020 is will finally open this autumn. Dubai had to postpone the Expo on account of Covid 19 but the pandemic can no longer stop it. The cases have dropped to a great extent and 80.62% of the entire population is fully vaccinated. While 91.57% have received the full dose.
Hence, Dubai is ready to launch Expo 2020. This 182-day long extravaganza will be kicked off on October 1, 2021, and will continue until March 31, 2022.
And everyone is ready for the fun-filled events, inspiring exhibits, and mouth-watering delicacies prepared by the best chefs in the world. But we must not forget that an event as huge as the Expo is susceptible to turning into superspreader events. Now we are sure no one would want that to happen. Who should not come to Expo?
Please do not visit Expo 2020 if you are suffering from Covid symptoms. Avoid visiting Expo if you have been in close contact with a covid positive person or with those in self-quarantine orders.
Who can visit Expo 2020?
Visitors over 18 years must furnish proof of vaccination through the green pass of the Al Hosn app can visit Expo 2020. Unvaccinated visitors will have to present a negative PCR report that will be will be valid for 72 hours. Visitors can also be tested on-site, free of cost.
Precautions to follow
- Attendees are requested to stay masked at all times while on the premises.
- They are also expected to maintain a physical distance of at least 2 meters at all times.
- Markers will be set up near exhibits and booths to demarcate appropriate and safe distances for the attendees to stand on. Social distancing is also applicable in the dining areas.
- Thermal cameras will be set up at the entrance to monitor the temperatures of the attendees. If the temperatures of any guest seem to be over the safe threshold, they will be escorted out by volunteers. They will then be provided medical help if needed.
- Hand sanitizer stations will be abundant at the event.
- Medical camps will be set up to aid and assist any guest who needs medical help.
Other steps taken by officials
- Other than this, the Expo 2020 officials will regularly clean and sanitize the venues and common areas.
- Signage and posters on social distancing will also be there throughout the premises.
- A few staff members will be monitoring the adherence to social distancing norms.
