Dries Van Noten’s Fall/Winter 2022 collection brings together sparkling masculine and feminine looks , creating bold outfits. This character was featured in the brand’s film, with a group of dancers from Belgium, the Netherlands and the Paris Opera who met at the Paris Fashion week FW 2021 – 2022 to give a dance show for the first time since the start of the quarantine.
Exaggerated movements of pain, ecstasy and freedom, all of which were present in the bending and twisting of the bodies of the dancers, as an expression of the condition of all of us, and of our desire to overcome this malicious epidemic. In this regard, Van Noten said: “I love to dance, and I love to move, and movement is part of being a human being. And I told the dancers, the idea is not to just dance, but to dance in these clothes.”
The collection featured masculine variations of slouchy tweed pants, baggy jackets and coats with collars. As for the glamor of feminine freedom, it appeared in the form of a round collar of velvet tulle and a sweater in the form of a red rose, a burgundy sweater with red feathers along the sleeves, a dress in light pink and chartreuse and a silk dress.
