At 4.07 pm, an earthquake of 6.2 Magnitude struck Southern Iran. A minute later, the second quake of 6.7 Richter followed.
Iran’s National Meteorology Centre officially announced the information and mentioned that the impact was felt in the northern as well as the eastern parts of the nation. Luckily the region is safe and sound.
More than 1,000 km away, the tremors were felt in Dubai and Abu Dhabi minutes after they hit Iran.
Residents of Downtown Dubai mentioned that they felt the ground shake and the buildings were evacuated as a safety measure. Many took to Twitter the videos captured during the tremors and the things in their apartments are being shaken by the quake.
It is not an unusual occasion as it has happened before. Earlier this year, when two quakes struck Iran in February and June, tremors were felt in the Emirates.
