What is the latest announcement?
National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) and Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) has announced the opening of tourist visas to people from all the nations. This also includes the nations that were previously banned.
From when is it applicable?
The update will come in force from August 30th 2021, just a month before Expo 2020 starts.
What if I am not vaccinated?
The passengers must be fully vaccinated (2 shots) with one of the WHO-approved Covid-19 vaccines. The rules for unvaccinated passengers (including exempted categories) are still the same. This includes adherence with the quarantine protocols and additional testing as per the requirement set by each emirate.
Which are the WHO-approved vaccines?
Vaccines from AstraZeneca, Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinopharm, Johnson & Johnson, and Sinovac are approved by WHO.
What is the process?
The passengers are, however, required to register their vaccination status on the UAE government’s health app. A mandatory rapid PCR test after arrival at the airport is also a key criteria.
What if I am vaccinated in UAE?
Certain benefits are provided to those who have been vaccinated in UAE. They can avail the same by registering on the ICA platform or the Al Hosn application.
