Finally, there is a good news for British Expats and UAE residents. From October 4, the United Kingdom is replacing its traffic-light travel system will be simplified to only a red list.
Also, there will no longer be a quarantine period for fully vaccinated UAE individuals visiting the United Kingdom. Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa, Mr James Cleverly, announced that the British government is finalizing the arrangements with the UAE government to open up their border.
Along with the UAE, the United Kingdom is easing its travel rules between Turkey, Egypt, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Oman, Bangladesh, the Maldives, and Kenya.
These changes are sure to give the much-needed boost to the travel industry as British families can finally book there holidays in the coming season. In lieu to this, Grant Shapps, Transport Secretary of UK added, “Today’s changes mean a simpler, more straightforward system. One with less testing and lower costs, allowing more people to travel, see loved ones or conduct business around the world while providing a boost for the travel industry.”
Adding a happy note to the above development for the UAE residents, Abu Dhabi has also relaxed its travel and visit restrictions. From September 19, those visiting Abu Dhabi don’t have to submit the recent negative tested PCR for Covid-19. The development came into existence after the cases dropped to just 0.2%.
