Abu Dhabi Ice Sports Club is preparing for the return of its sporting activities after a seven-month hiatus due to the “Corona” pandemic, as part of its keenness to adhere to the instructions issued by the competent authorities to preserve the safety of the players and the technical and administrative staff of the club.
Today the club issued a statement confirming that the Abu Dhabi Sports Council gave the green light to start preparing for the return of activities in ice sports, provided that the precautionary measures are applied according to the council’s protocol, as well as the procedures specified by the competent authorities that are keen on the safety of community members.
The statement pointed out that the club immediately issued a decision to form a committee to oversee the implementation of the requirements of the Council’s protocol for the return of activity, including identifying points of physical separation, continuous sterilization, entry gates equipped with heat detectors, exit gates, and a medical examination for players, administrators and workers, and continuous awareness within the sports facility.
Ice hockey players and players expressed their great happiness about the imminent return of sporting activity, appreciating the efforts of the club and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council to maintain their safety during the past period, and the programs and mechanisms provided by the club to enable players to return to practicing “ice hockey”, especially as the upcoming important benefits require quick engagement. In training to raise fitness and technical readiness.
The statement affirmed that the approval of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council supports the return of sports activity in the ski halls, “ice hockey” in particular, and “ice sports” in general, and that this approval came at the appropriate time for the start of the sports season, which is to participate in the Emirates Ice Hockey League and the Cup of His Highness President The state for ice hockey and the continental and international championships, and the club makes a great effort to implement the requirements of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council to obtain final approval for the return of activity after the visit of the council’s delegation to the club and to see its complete equipment.
The mechanism for the return of sports activity is scheduled to start with training for the first team in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, “Storms” and “Thebes” for men and women, and then gradually for the rest of the teams according to the evaluation of compliance with the conditions of the council protocol, the precautionary measures and the results of the periodic medical examination.
