Mohammed Al Hammadi won the bronze medal in 100-meter T34 wheelchair at the Tokyo Olympic Stadium. He completed the event in 15.66 minutes. This is UAE’s first medal in the ongoing Paralympics 2020.
By registering a win, Al Hammadi added the bronze to his earlier three Paralympics medals. At the 2012 London games, he clinched a bronze and a silver in 200 m and 100 m, respectively. He had also won gold at the 2016 Rio Paralympics. Hammadi is continuing his dream run by clinching medals at three consecutive Paralympics.
Tunisia’s Walid Ktila clinched the gold by finishing the race in 15.01 minutes. Australia’s Rheed McCracken won the silver with 15.37 minutes on the clock. At the same time, Hammadi’s teammate Ahmed Nawad came 8th at a personal best time of 15.99.
