The UAE’s official app for mobile, Al Hosn has tied up with Flydubai to make traveling easier during Covid times. The app allows for contact tracing and testing concerning Covid-19 for passengers.

Currently, Flydubai’s airline route network comprises of over 90 places. These destinations include seasonal summer routes to Batumi in Georgia, Mykonos and Santorini in Greece, Naples in Italy, Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt and Tivat in Montenegro. It is also the first UAE aircraft operating service to offer direct flights to Slovenia. It has also introduced flights to Budapest from Dubai.

About Flydubai’s New Tie-Up

They will be given a digital verification of their medical details related to the coronavirus outbreak. These digital records related to the pandemic may come in handy when traveling from Dubai.

This is the first aircraft operating service to join the Al Hosn app to provide such a convenient feature for those traveling. UAE citizens and residents, as well as visitors, can use the app when they check in. This will replace any printed physical copies of their negative PCR test as they travel out of Dubai. However, certain places might require hard copies of the passenger’s records upon arrival, so that must be considered.

Flydubai passengers leaving from Terminal 2 of Dubai International (DXB) will get to use this feature on the app. It is not yet available for Flydubai flights leaving from Terminal 3. However, efforts are presently being undertaken to introduce this service to flights at this terminal as well.

Hamad Obaidalla, Chief Commercial Officer, Flydubai, expressed his gratitude towards the Al Hosn for teaming up with them for this initiative. Through their support, this digital verification system has successfully been established. He also expressed his pleasure about the same, as it makes them the first airline to offer the feature for the convenience of their passengers.

About The Al Hosn App

Al Hosn came into being through the combined efforts of the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) and local health authorities and is endorsed by the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA).

The Al Hosn app is UAE’s official app for showing the individual’s Covid-19 status. It enables fast and efficient access to PCR test results and the status of the vaccination doses. It uses a system of color-coding to determine the green pass status of its users. A red or grey code invalidates the green pass status.

Passengers are required to make sure that they are up to date with the regulations from the IATA Travel Centre and the IATA destination tracker for their whole journey and follow the guidance issued by the authorities and the airline.

Hamad Obaidalla felt that the Al Hosn app helped Flydubai provide travelers with easier and more convenient ways to travel since there is rising demand for the same. It facilitated the achievement of this goal is a “seamless, secure and effective” manner according to him.
