26 dead in the sinking of a boat in Uganda

At least 26 people were killed in a boat accident in Lake Albert, on the border between Uganda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

According to the Ugandan authorities, the boat, which was carrying more than 50 people, faced strong winds that caused it to sink. Search teams found 26 bodies and rescued 21 people, excluding any survivors, and the passengers who were not found were considered missing.
