At least 18 people were killed and more than 10 people were missing and about 46,000 were evacuated due to the floods that inundated thousands of homes in central Vietnam, according to the authorities, who expected more heavy rains in the country.
Pictures released by local media in Vietnam showed entire villages underwater in Quang Tri and Central Quang Nam provinces, while waters stretched across the former imperial capital, Hue, and the tourist town of Hoi An at the weekend.
