Working from home for months on end can be a challenge in many ways. Anxiety and frustration can combine, balancing work and family, more time spent working with your hands, and being near a lot of junk food are all things that combine to make you snack more during the day.

Chia seeds are the seeds of the chia plant with the highest nutritional value. In addition to being rich in antioxidants, chia seeds are also a rich source of good fats that help you maintain a healthy heart. Since they provide a large amount of nutrients and are low in calories, they are ideal to include in your snacks.

3 quick and easy chia seed snack ideas

Jam mixture with chia seeds: Take two cups of the berry mixture and two tablespoons of chia seeds and mix them well. You can use a few drops of honey or stevia if you want to sweeten the jam. Put the mixture in small packages and put it in the refrigerator for an hour. An hour later, you will have prepared your unique jam ready to spread on whole grain toast. 

Fresh Chia Coconut: You can mix chia seeds in coconut water to make a very nutritious and filling drink. Mix 1 tablespoon of chia seeds in 1.5 cups of coconut water. Wait 30 minutes for the mixture to thicken and then add a few drops of lemon juice or orange juice to add flavor to the mixture before drinking it.

Chia seed pudding: Take two tablespoons of chia seeds, three tablespoons of dates or strawberries and one tablespoon of almond butter, and soak it in two cups of almond milk overnight. In the morning, mix everything together to make a creamy mixture. Serve in pudding cups and sprinkle with chia seeds or chopped fruit.

‌‌Seaweed is rich in nutrients and flavor

Seaweed is a type of algae found in the ocean that is mostly used in Asian dishes and has now gained international fame for its nutritional dense properties. Seaweed is available in different colors and shapes and is a nutrient rich in iodine and tyrosine, which may help maintain healthy thyroid function. It is rich in Vitamin A, Vitamin E, Vitamin K, Vitamin B complex and minerals like iron.   And manganese and copper. Since seaweed is rich in antioxidants, it may help you protect your body from various diseases. It may also aid digestion and promote gut health. Seaweed is rich in fiber so it keeps you full for longer and may also be beneficial for weight control. 

3 delicious seaweed snack ideas

Seaweed juice: Take a cup of spinach after boiling it and put it in ice water, cubes of cucumber, a spoonful of almond butter, a few sheets of seaweed, ice and water to get a rich and creamy juice with a new taste. If you prefer sweet juices, add your preferred sugar substitute.

Sushi rolls: If you want to make a snack with seaweed, you should try making sushi rolls. Even if you don’t prefer the regular ingredients for sushi wraps, you can use more familiar ingredients for filling, like crunchy carrots, diced chicken, and chopped garlic. Enjoy this different nutritious snack to keep you healthy and full.

Avocado and seaweed snack: Slice an avocado. Generously sprinkle some dried seaweed and chia seeds. Add a little lemon juice and salt to enhance the flavor. You will love this delicious snack that will boost your health.

3 Super Nutritious and Healthy Meal Ideas

Fruit salad: Put pound of mango chunks, pound of chopped strawberries, and pound of peeled kiwi chunks in a large bowl. Squeeze half a lemon and sprinkle a tablespoon of   your favorite sweetener over the fruit. If you prefer more flavors, you can add chopped coriander or mint leaves on top. Mix the ingredients lightly and enjoy a bowl of nutrition.

Parfait Berry – Yogurt: In a tall glass serving bowl, add a layer of Greek yogurt and the berry mixture. Top it with granola or a mixture of seeds and nuts , and garnish  with honey .

Banana with pumpkin seeds: Slice the banana into slices, then sprinkle it with some toast and pumpkin seeds. Enjoy this healthy snack packed with nutrients.

‌‌Use canned snacks

Although making foods at home is usually better, it’s also a good idea to keep some   canned snacks on hand for busy workdays (or if you have remote learning kids). Choose low-sugar snacks that are rich in protein and fiber.  Seaweed snacks, protein sticks, nuts and seeds are all great quick meal options. 

It is very important that you choose foods rich in nutrients to eat while working from home during this time because as we all know, it is easy to gain weight and difficult to lose. Plus, healthy snacks will keep your energy levels steady throughout the workday and may help you stay focused. So why not try some of these fast and healthy ideas?
