According to the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA), UAE fixed the price of PCR tests across the nation to AED 50.
Earlier, the tests were charged depending on the Emirate. Abu Dhabi had fixed its price at AED 65 this March, and Dubai set AED 135 for 24 hours results and AED 150 for fast track option. It was around AED 100 in the Northern Emirates.
NCEMA announced that the test results should be delivered within 24 hours by all the health centres and laboratories. The Ministry of Health & Prevention will be monitoring the implementation of the prices and its provision in accordance with the specified controls.
The decision has been effective from August 31, 2021.
This news came as a relief for the citizens of the Gulf Monarch as it would save them a lot during this challenging pandemic situation. It will also relieve the employees who need regular screening.
