Tourism is an environmentally friendly activity; The fact that a healthy and clean environment is an essential part of tourism in general, and in Egypt in particular, especially in the field of natural ecotourism; Which aims to maintain the ecological balance, and to protect the environments of living organisms of all kinds from continuous and preventive pollution, by rationalizing the consumption of resources and rationalizing their extraction.

Ecotourism contributes to encouraging specialized economic development in the field of environmental protection and preserving biodiversity. It should be noted that the efficiency of the environmental management of the tourism sector plays a fundamental role in making tourism environmentally friendly, and Egypt plays an effective role in establishing appropriate means for developing eco-tourism.

It is considered part of the tourism activities on which governmental and non-governmental agencies and local communities are based in several Egyptian governorates. Such as the Red Sea Governorate and South Sinai, in which more than half of the Egyptian tourism development is concentrated, in addition to the northern coast and Western Sahara.
